Chapter 1
"🎵 Goin' tooooooo Moonbucks, they stealin' my cash aaand 🎵
🎵 That car is, uhmmm, going, straight into that buildi--
THAT GOD DAMN CAR IS GOING FOR THE FRIGGIN' BUILDING."
Then, the old looking Toyota that Daniel just saw whizz by him went for the building-- some kinda hotel or something. Meh, he never really liked that chain, but NGH, National Group of Hotels, had some really good breakfast.
The car rammed straight into the foundation of the building and, according to Daniel, the car exploded after the car ran into the building. The explosion would have probably killed whoever was in the reception desk and whoever would have been eating breakfast on the bottom floor. The pancakes there were good, though, so Daniel would die happy if the last thing he did was eat one of them.
"Wait, why did I never eat at NGH? Moonbucks is lousy as crab"
People were running away from the scene like invisible floodwaters swept them away, screaming, shouting. Daniel was one of the few people who stayed, mesmerized by the scene. One business man was... grinning? Must've got a good deal yesterday and was still happy. What else could it be?
Then, gravity remembered it had a job to do.
At first upper floors of the building were kind of floating down, but then Daniel realized that it was just perspective playing tricks on him. As soon as the building got further down, it sped up significantly and now seemed like a bullet, but a hell of a lot faster.
Daniel decided now was a good time to get out, so he slowly walked away. The building completely fell behind him and dust was being kicked up. Rubble flew behind him. He decided he didn't want to go to Moonbucks today, otherwise today would be too traumatic, seeing the receipt, and the total, and the subtotal, and the tax, and the little note that took up more than twice the length of the actual receipt telling him to sign up for their Superior Ultra Mega Black Diamond Double Gold Premium Natural-Selection Refined Moonbucks Member and all two perks, and how it was a measly two (hundred) dollars a day...
He didn't feel like it that day. And he also opted to mute his headset until the next day, blasted loud-mouth shouting in his ear. He does realize that the speakers are right on Daniel's ears... right?
KSHHHHH-- BEEP BEEP KSHSHHHHHHHHHHHEYHHHHHHYEAHDAHHSHSHHHHH DANNY!!! GOD DAMN YA BLAST'D DAMN-- Danny, y'oughtta do sum'th'n right 'way!
It was commando again on the radio. Daniel thought he muted it, but oh well.
"What?"
"DO SUM'THN!"
"What should I do?"
"TH'BUILD'N!!! Y'DERE WH'NIT FELL, BOAI"
"Ohhh... yeah."
"DO SM'NTHN Y'G'DAMN WH'PEE C'SH'N!!!"
"What?"
"YOU DEADA--"
"What? EVAHHHHHH"
The vice commando, with a slightly toned down Southern accent barged into the call.
"Daniel, he's tryin' to ask to solv'at buildin's d'struct'n."
"Oh."
"Like, like, who did it 'n all."
"Okay."
Meanwhile, the main commando guy was shouting curses and damning him.
Well, now he had to do something, but he didn't want to. So he had to come up with some kind of bargain. Ooh! He had an idea... let's see... oh, he's writing some kind of contract... now he's rehearsing... and, and, he-- he's going to base now!
He hopped in a taxi and headed to the headquarters of the super secret spy guys. So much for being secretive. Anyways, the base was in the middle of a city so there was no point in even trying to hide it without doing some weird stuff by hiding it underground and stuff, and that would bring a truck load of concerns about plumbing and what not.
Daniel reached the base and proceeded to stride all the way to Hall 300, where he would meet his commander.
"Hoi, commando!"
"Oh, crap, he back."
"I will investigate the building bombing incident, which is now incidents plural."
"There'sa catch, ain't it?"
"I get triple the pay."
"HAIL N'SUN W'THA'BIG BUM!!!"
The vice commander, hearing all the commotion, came to where Daniel and the commando guy were bargaining and arguing.
"Hold it right there, twin. We ain't got no one else to do allat snooopin' 'n spyin'." He turned to Daniel. "Now, since I can make a decision for commando while he be absent, and he be absent not literally but in mind, I could agree to this offer for ya."
"Great! Now I got a little document and I would like you to sign it here, here, and here and check 'Yes' here where it asks if you are doing this in the absense of the commander, you got it?"
"Uhhh..."
"Oh, you'll need a pen."
The vice commander was baffled seeing all ten pages of contract that he would be bound to, and neither the vice commander nor the commander were devoted scholars and struggled to read most books, let alone Legalese contracts.
The vice commander, stunned by all the words that were on the page, signed there, there and there, and checked yes on the top of the page.
As soon as his vice commander signed all the proper fields, Daniel was smiling as he took another taxi back to his home. He could now afford more than one crossaint at Moonbucks!
